Going into this project to commemorate his move to the Tonight Show, the plan was to parody one of Jimmy Fallon’s most famous sketches in a slow jam interview with his hometown high school teachers. But then everything fell apart. Nothing wanted to work for us in production, and our original vision lost its sight. In the editing room, and out of options, we took inspiration from absurdist humor and found the comedy in our misfortune. We ended up with a video with a charming community television vibe, a few good laughs, and a shout out from Fallon himself on his Twitter feed.
